What this site is

Where Stay Guide publishes editorial guidance about where to stay in a city. It is not a travel agency, it takes no bookings, holds no reservations and handles no payments. Everything here is our opinion and our research, offered to help you decide, and it is not professional advice of any kind.

Accuracy, and its limits

We check what we publish against the accommodation’s own sources and we date our reviews. Hotels change hands, rename themselves, refurbish and close, and an area can change character in a season. We cannot promise that every fact is current at the moment you read it.

If you find something wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will correct it. That is a genuine offer, and corrections are the most useful mail we get.

We publish no prices

This site states no rate, no availability and no guest rating, because it holds none. Anything of that kind is shown to you by the seller, on the seller’s site, under the seller’s terms, and can change between your reading this and your booking. Check the final total and the cancellation conditions with them before you pay.

Affiliate links

Some accommodation links earn us a commission if you book through them, at no cost to you. They are marked wherever they appear and explained on the affiliate disclosure page. A commission has never decided what we recommend or in what order.

Other people’s sites

We link to booking providers, hotels’ own sites and reference sources. We do not control any of them and are not responsible for what they contain or for what happens once you are there.

What belongs to whom

The words, the area research and the scoring on this site are ours; please do not republish them wholesale. The photographs are not: every one is used under a Creative Commons licence or is in the public domain, and each is credited on the page it appears on with a link to its source. If you want to reuse a photograph, follow the licence, not us.

Liability

We publish carefully and in good faith. We cannot be liable for a trip that disappointed you, a booking made with a third party, or a decision taken on the strength of a page here. Nothing in this paragraph limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes

These terms may change as the site does. The date below is when they were last reviewed, and material changes will move that date rather than being slipped in quietly.
