Best Family Hotels in Amsterdam
Four of the 22 Amsterdam hotels we have reviewed publish a room type a family can actually use. That is the whole basis of this page: what each hotel states on its own site, not what a booking site infers. Where a hotel names a room but not how many people it sleeps, this page says so instead of assuming. The set is small because the evidence is small, and it will grow as we verify more.
How we chose
- A multi-guest room type named on the hotel's own site: a triple, a quadruple, a family suite, or a stated maximum occupancy
- Area fit for families, taken from our own area scorecard rather than from the hotel
- What the hotel's site does not state, said plainly rather than filled in
- The trade-off stated, including what the address costs a family
Hotel Jan Luyken Amsterdam

The clearest evidence of any hotel we reviewed here: its own site lists a Medium room for up to three people at about 30 m² and a Studio for up to four at about 45 m². It stands on a residential street minutes from the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh, with Vondelpark the other way.
Hotel Park Plantage

Its site names a Standard Triple Room with three single beds. It sits on the Plantage Middenlaan itself, which is the area we recommend for families: Artis, Micropia and the Hortus Botanicus are along one boulevard rather than a tram ride apart.
Melrose Hotel

The only hotel in our reviewed set whose site names a Quadruple Room, alongside two triples. It sits on the Elandsgracht at the southern edge of the Jordaan, which is the least characteristic part of that area and the most practical.
Park Centraal Amsterdam
Museum Quarter
Its site lists a Family Suite among its room categories but states no occupancy for it, so treat the size as unconfirmed and ask before booking. The position is the argument: the corner of Vondelpark, between the park, the museums and the canal belt.
